COLUMBUS, Ohio (March 17, 2021)

AERO Sustainable Material Technology is elated to kick off the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advanced Auto Parts supporting 15 competitors for the second IMSA event of the 2021 season.

The eight-day event at Sebring International Raceway features five IMSA sanctioned series, four of which have teams sporting AERO Sustainable Paint Technology. The weekend kicks off with IMSA Prototype Challenge, March 12-13, and goes straight through to the following week with Carrera Cup North America, MICHELIN Pilot Challenge and the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship hitting the track March 17-20. Each team sporting an AERO livery is a top contestant in its class, made to standout even more by the cutting-edge AERO film-based paint system.

In the first race of the weekend, IMSA Prototype Challenge Round 2, AERO Paint supports three teams. The AERO squad welcomes a pair of Ligier JS P320’s; the Performance Tech Motorsports No. 6 Motel 6 signature blue and red machine and Wulver Racing’s No. 60 with a sleek black and white design. WIN Autosport rounds the AERO Paint LMP3 squad with the No. 11 Duqueine M30-D08 done in AERO’s beautiful Cobalt Blue.

In IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge AERO Paint welcomes back multi-season partners and the 2019 Champion CarBahn with Peregrine Racing. The No. 93 Audi R8 LMS GT4 EVO is decked out in the team’s flagship grey, green and black livery as it hunts for its second championship. AERO also continues working with KMW Motorsport with Team Mean Racing’s No. 5 Alfa Romeo Giulietta RF in a smooth black paint scheme, striving for redemption after a rough 2020 season.

To cap off the weekend, AERO will support seven cars in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship’s second round of the IMSA MICHELIN Endurance Cup; The Mobile 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advanced Auto Parts. The 2021 season saw a new prototype class enter the series consisting of the enhanced versions of the IMSA Prototype Challenge vehicles. Aligning with this ladder system, AERO will work with Performance Tech Motorsports No. 38 Ligier JS P320 to help earn the team’s first win in this inaugural season.

Continuing up the prototype ladder, AERO joins forces with WIN Autosport again, this time on the No. 11 ORECA LMP2 07. This is the team’s first season in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship making the upper hand given by AERO Sustainable Paint Technology all the more crucial for its success.

Also new to the LMP2 class is the United Autosport’s Ligier ORECA LMP2 07. After nearly a decade of success across the globe the team is headed stateside with Jim McGuire, Guy Smith, and Wayne Boyd in the signature Cobalt Blue No. 22.

In the DPi class AERO ecstatically partners with Meyer Shank Racing on the team’s journey back to prototype racing. The No. 60 Acura DPi can be easily spotted sailing through the field in a vibrant Magenta paint scheme.

Finally, AERO welcomes back the Corvette Racing No. 3 and No. 4 Corvette C8’s and BMW Team RLL’s No. 24 and 25 BMW M8 GTE’s. Staying true to its roots Corvette will showcase the C8’s speed and persistence in contrasting Corvette Yellow and Sterling Silver liveries. BMW Team RLL will only join the series for the IMSA MICHELIN Endurance Cup with a plan to dominate the field in the M8 GTE’s trademark blue, red, and white designs.

The event kicks off Friday, March 12 with IMSA Prototype Round 2 and ends Saturday, March 20 with the Mobile 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advanced Auto Parts.
