There aren’t many environments more demanding than 40,000 feet in the air.
Over the past 15 years, AERO have been working with Boeing to provide a high-tech paint film for the groundbreaking 787 Dreamliner.
Durable and light
Boeing wanted a paint film that could meet the tough durability specifications for aerospace where the 787 Dreamliner would be cruising, and retain the same aesthetic characteristics as traditional spray.
It also needed to be light, to keep the weight low on the all-compositive, super lightweight 787 platform.
Dealing with the detail
Boeing also needed the paint to be able to handle intricate Asian characters where required on Dreamliner’s tail markings. The altitudes and speeds involved are such that spray-applied stencils and vinyl were simply not viable options.
Boeing approved since 2008
Applying our expertise in materials science, our AERO solution delivered on
all the above requirements. It was approved by Boeing for Exterior Applique in 2008, and has been used on Boeing’s expanding fleet of beautiful 787 Dreamliners ever since.
